As one of the four major traditional festivals in China, the history of the Mid-Autumn Festival can be traced back to ancient times.

In the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Mooncake Gambling activity is a traditional activity in Southern China and Taiwan Province, it originally invented by General ZhengChenggong in the 17th century in Xiamen city, the game compete by rolling dice for prizes, the prizes are mooncakes or others set by their own rules, participants wish to put their hopes for wealth, health, peace and happiness in this way. The Mooncake Gambling are usually 10 people at a table, by rolling dice to compete for prizes, the game rules are simple and fair,very popular with the local people.

Mooncake Gambling is not only a game, but also a way of cultural inheritance and emotional expression. It expresses people's yearning for their hometown and embodies the theme of reunion and Thanksgiving of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This activity is widely popular in southern Fujian and Taiwan and has become an important part of the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, showing the unique charm of local folk culture.
